A Wall Street Revolt

by Michael Lewis (2014)

My Thoughts

Low 4. I wouldn't recommend you read this book if you already have a negative opinion of Wall Street, as the corruption and negligence will only make you feel worse towards them. Overall though, this is just an insane story of a David vs Goliath, Brad Katsuyama vs the big banks and HFT traders, and there were many instances were I couldn't stop reading. I do have a few problems with the book, mainly that the author just glosses over how IEX is fixing HFT corruption and what separates IEX from every other exchange. There is also a ton of repetition in other areas, like where the author is attempting to clarify what HFT is and how its used to make money. This was certainly a story worth telling and a story that did not need a lot of pages, in which, Michael Lewis succeeded.
